The maintenance in the first years was much better
The layout is because of the nearly 100 of bunker sometimes difficult. the bunker were dry and hard (no sand)
The staff was very friendly and the club goes is gorgeous

"A good layout. A bit more room here for wayward drives than at Aphrodite and Secret Valley but if you do miss the fairways it can be punishing. The fairways look as if they need some water but play fine. Greens fast to scary-fast this week. Some bunkers a bit short of sand but generally ok. Walkable but quite tiring. Staff friendly and welcoming. We played twice this week. Pace of play slow on one day and fine on the other. Definitelyworth a visit." - John Snape

"Interesting course well laid out, but 16 and 17 not great, especially 17, it is a poor hole and think that Sir Nick must have had an “Off” day when he designed it.
Thought that the Office ,receptionists,Caddymaster team were excellent and very helpful as well as the Bar staff downstairs.
An enjoyable round despite 17!!

"Today the course was in good condition, in the morning a little damp, people are very kind, only few blind holes, no shadow, on hot days therefore a buggy is sensible, a lot of bunkers as usual on Nick Faldo courses, not too hilly, most fairways fairly broad, greens somewhat tricky and fast, unfortunately a lot of power poles and factory buildings along the first nine holes, nice views on the second half" - Sumare

"Played course in June 22. Sceptical having read some of the reviews but found the course to be in excellent condition and a joy to play and in great condition. Yes there are lots of bunkers but there is also oceans of fairway to allow you to navigate your way round. True, at times the views from the course are not the best but the quality of the course makes up for that, a golfers course.

"Never played such bad greens. We had been warned they had been hollow tined a couple of weeks prior, but they were frankly unplayable - I think the course should be closed whilst they fully recover. Damn shame, as this is otherwise a great track."

"We walked with trolleys as all buggies were booked out. It was a long walk! The course was in really good condition but it is a tough track and, as with many Faldo layouts, littered with bunkers so it was not a fun experience, more a test! A good layout apart from the finish with a crazy design at 16 (not sure how ladies are meant to play this hole with an 80 yard carry before the green) followed by two long testing par 4s just when you are exhausted. "Bunkers were out of play due to bad weather.
There was a group of 52 ahead who slowed the course up. We waited on every shot.
My partners left on the 16th as it was too late.
I played the last 2 holes in the dark.
The round took nearly 6 hours."

"Immaculate condition with exceptionally fast greens. Sand in bunkers was crispy and firm. Practice facility was outstanding . Staff were very friendly and the clubhouse was excellent. Overall good experience and will be back."

"the best I can say: its also a golf-course....
good tees, bumpy fairways, terrible bunkers (hardly any sand, like playing from the buggy-path!);
as the course gives no natural orientation, I have missed informations about the holes on the tee (there is just one information on the 17th - when you walk to the yellow tees...., playing from the whites you have to guess where to play!)" - Klaus

"I loved this course.
the only issue that I had was that members were in front of e in four balls and they were not inclined to let me play through. New rule changes ref single players do not seem to have been welcomed at Elea.
It was dreadfully slow and very hot which together made the experience difficult.
I would return though.
A vote of thanks to the caddy master as I lost a head cover on the course and when I went to retrieve my clubs they had found it for me - very kind and great service form all." - Gary Duke

"Hello In general I have ticked most of the boxes with a high mark. The clubhouse etc was fab and was pampered from start to finish so top marks so far The tees although in very good condition looked artificial what I mean by that is they looked like mats we use in Scotland in Winter for temporary tees the fairways very very good considering the heat the course has to stand up to what personally I did not like ABOUT the course was that is was very open especially down below the clubhouse making it look a bit barren and wind swept but my main complaint would be the bunkers far to many for an average player to cope with a course can have too little but in this case to many yes one should think more carefully about club selection and where one should aim so its the players fault I suppose the average player has to keep laying up often to try and avoid the bunkers short of the green there by losing extra strokes.To be fair I played very well going out and poorly coming home so may be I am not being fair about Elea but after all my moans I WOULD STILL COME BACK FOR MORE PUNISHMENT one day"
