"The rough adjacent to the fairways was too thick making it difficult and very often impossible to find a ball. The bunkers should all be GUR because they were scoured where rivers of rain had run through them. Although they are now dry there was no sand in the bottom of most bunkers just caked mud. The course was a disgrace. This is the 13 year that we have used the 3 courses, we have this year so far played the Lakes and Ruins and this is the first time we have complained about both of them (have they changed the Greenkeper recently?) If so he needs to be made aware of the situation. We play the Hills tomorrow and hope the rough there is manageable. We will let you know."

"We have played the course many times and always enjoyed it even though it is only a 9 hole course.We go round twice to make up 18 holes and if you go round twice you have a chance to correct any mistakes made on the first circuit. There is development work being done on the complex of the three courses (Ruins, Lakes & Hills courses). The Lakes course and clubhouse is closed at the moment. A new service road is being constructed in the vicinity of the Hills clubhouse and the taxi dropped us off in an adjacent car park which is about 300yds from the clubhouse but by arrangement a buggy will pick you up. Because you have to access the Ruins from the Hills you start at the 4th Tee and acaddy man escorts you to the tee which is a fair drive from the Hills. " - Bob & Sue Garner

"Some of the fairways had bare patches but the worst thing was the bunkers they were unplayable GUR they had been deluged in water and wete full of rivulets and stones. We picked our balls out of them and played from the side. They were an absolute disgrace." - Bob from Willaston

"We have played all the Lumine courses over a period of about 9 years so we know them well. The main complaint on the Ruins course was the very poor condition of the bunkers. They were so bad that we devised our own local rule allowing us to lift the ball and rake the sand then replace the ball and play it. Also the only toilet block on the course was locked and therefore unusable."

"Although it is only a 9 hole course it is challenging snd going round it twice to complete 18 holes gives a chance to better your score on the second nine. The three Lumine courses are good and this is the seventh year in succession that we have played them and no doubt we will be back in 2017" - Bob from Willaston
