Der La Zagaleta New Course ist kein Platz, den man einfach spielt – den erlebt man.
Allein die Anfahrt durch das abgeschirmte Gelände hat schon was Besonderes. Oben angekommen bist du komplett raus aus dem Alltag. Keine Hektik, keine vollen Flights – einfach Ruhe und Fokus auf Golf.
Der Platz selbst hat es dann in sich: viele Höhenunterschiede, blinde Schläge, enge Bahnen und immer wieder Situationen, in denen man lieber einmal mehr nachdenkt, bevor man draufhaut. Länge ist hier nicht das Thema – Präzision und Course Management entscheiden. Genau das macht ihn so spannend.
Was hängen bleibt, sind aber auch die Ausblicke. Teilweise stehst du am Abschlag und schaust einfach erstmal, bevor du spielst – Berge, Natur, Weite. Das hat schon fast was Meditatives.
Der Pflegezustand ist überragend, alles wirkt extrem hochwertig und durchdacht. Man merkt einfach, dass hier auf jedes Detail Wert gelegt wird.
Fazit:
Kein Platz für „mal schnell 18 Loch“, sondern einer, den man bewusst spielt und genießt. Anspruchsvoll, besonders und definitiv etwas, woran man sich lange erinnert.

Bereits zum zweiten Mal durften wir den "heiligen Rasen" betreten. Dieses mal konnten wir den Platz noch besser genießen als beim ersten Mal, denn wir wussten, auf was wir uns einlassen.
Wir waren so gut wie alleine auf dieser unglaublichen Anlage. Tadeloser Zustand, die Hirsche neben einem auf dem Fairway, die Bergkulisse um einen herum....einfach unfassbar.
Dieser Platz gehört für uns Lebenslänglich zum Pflichtprogramm, wenn wir hier in der Gegend sind." - Volker und Christian

"The condition was superb.
It’s a very tight course and has many stunning tee shots over canyons.
After finding the fairway you feel relaxed but then you realise you to have to putt on some of the best ,true , fastest greens in the area.
It was great to play and EVERY staff member was so helpful and genuinely welcoming to us.

"The course was in an excellent condition the fairway were very narrow there you will have to play target golf. The greens were very fast and lot of undulations.
The buggy are definitely recommended as there is a long walk between the greens and tees.
The sand in the bunkers were excellent
The 18 hole was very challenging as it was narrow fairways and pond on the right.

"This is my favourite golf course in Spain.
Yes it’s unfair, and difficult and you'll lose a couple of balls, but the quality of the fairways, greens, reception from staff are all top notch.
If you put your ego aside it’s very playable, just not with your driver in hand all the time.

"You don't play this course for a score, you play it for the views, the layout, the drama, the possibility of a 350 yard drive...all downhill, the welcome and the food.
This is a great fun to play course. It will take you 4.5 hours to play, you'll lose 4-6 balls but the course condition is excellent, the layout superb and staff so very welcoming.

"Not a course for the faint-hearted! The fairways are very narrow in places with ravines or hills on one or both sides. The course is not overly long but demands a lot of thought over club choice. Quite a distance from green to tee on some holes - not a course you can walk! Bring a lot of balls! It’s a course where you would know the best way to play it on the second attempt - if you can afford the list golf balls!
Carries from the tees for ladies are too long on some holes. Also, I’m not keen on trees in the middle of fairways. When the fairways are narrow it is difficult to find a landing ground where the green is not blocked out by the tree. However the course was in excellent condition. Greens were very fast and tricky to read.
The course was not particularly busy (this seems to be the norm) and our 2 ball got round in 4 hours after a 4 ball let us through.
The reception on arrival was very friendly and the club house very nice. Food was good."

"We played 10 courses in 11 days whilst in Spain over Christmas and New Year...this is the most memorable.
You are given a GPS tracker to keep in your vehicle as you are only allowed to travel to and from the clubhouse. The development is private and you are not allowed to wander around the housing developments.
The meet and greet at the clubhouse is very positive and courteous, lovely young lad. The clubhouse staff are super friendly and really want you to enjoy your visit. We had a meal afterwards and my steak was great, my wife's salad, just what she wanted.
The practice facilities are very good, we had the range to ourselves.
But it's the course itself that is so different. Zagaleta New is built across three gorges and you have to be brave to make all the carries...the greens are wonderful, super fast and very true. The fairways are tight and in excellent condition. the routing of the course is very dramatic, you hit across the gorges a number of times and the holes shape away and toward you. Its a stunning looking course. There are two average par threes but with the limited land available you can understand that.
Overall impression was WOW!

"Amazing course not very long but it puts a premium on accuracy the elevation changes are unbelievable and I have never putted on truer greens fairways are fantastic,it may seem a little expensive but it's the most exclusive private member's club on the coast and compared to the cost of Finca Cortesin it's very reasonable the service from when you arrive is really good and the course isn't loaded with golfers so you can play at a nice pace without being pushed this is definitely a course worth playing!" - Michael Allbutt

Die Grüns oft mit Bunkern gut verteidigt! Sehr oft schmale Landezonen vom Abschlag aus. Personal überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend.
