"Fairways and greens were generally in good condition but tees were quite poor.
The course is very hilly, buggy is recommended. Many holes are very tight from tee, some are just too tight. Bring a lot of balls....
No driving range at the course, we warmed up at a nearby range. Also very limited parking space at the club house, we ended up parking in a nearby street." - Anders

Hole 7 215 yards downhill a brute.
Fairly open.
Buggy to my point of view necessary.

"The course was not in acceptable condition. The greens are in poor condition. The bunkers were terrible with no sand so was like playing off concrete. Again here the round took over 5 hours. It’s a shame as it has some really good holes on it. Not sadly the relatively new diabolical par 5 9th hole. The course is scenic with some lovely views. A buggy is highly recommend as the course is hilly and with some distance between greens and tees on a number of holes. You do get a free drink after your round. Friendly staff and decent clubhouse." - Spiggy

Easy buggies to drive and very good condition.
Fairways excellent condition
One con, the gaps between each fourball wasn’t enough, far too many teams playing. Hence a 5 hr 30mins round which was a definite off putter"

"Well kept course. Spectacular holes. Beautiful views. Due to the wet conditions we had to stay on the buggy paths which was not an issue. No need for a buggy but might be advisable in very hot weather. Friendly staff and very accommodating when we had to change our tee time. Lovely clubhouse. Excellent food. Great pro shop for all your golf needs and clothes."

"Mostly in good condition but some of the greens were very slow whilst others were very quick.
For the time of year it was good but there are definitely areas that need cutting.
A very difficult, long and tiring hole is number 9 and I am sure it could be alleviated to make it a little less stressful.
On the whole a good course to play on holiday. Very helpful staff"

Schade dass anscheinend jedermann auf den Platz darf und niemand nach dem Handicap fragt.
Anfänger sollten den Platz meiden und eher auf flachen Plätzen spielen
Das Layout des Platzes ist wunderschön und alles war sehr gepflegt.
Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist absolut in Ordnung.

"Interesting layout with at some points very nice views.
Challenging due to mostly narrow teeboxes or landing zones - some blind drives!
Very nice staff in restaurant, pro shop and caddy master!
Buggy highly recommended.
Condition of teeboxes could be improved, most of them were not flat.
We were missing some distance indication on the course but might have gotten confused as they were colored red and yellow, maybe not the best choice of colors!
Overall good experience on a challenging course with some conditions to improve."

"Course has continued to deteriorate. Have played at Santa Maria for over 25 years. No more. They altered the course a few years ago and have ruined its character. Although our 4 ball played in 4 hours 10 minutes ( time allowed 4.28) we were hounded by the marshals. The reason being they are overbooking the course and are short of buggies and are hurrying players along so they can reuse buggies. Overall experience was very poor." - Bill Houghton

Greens generally very slow
Pace of play was good as few playing- we wish we hadn’t either!
Used to enjoy a round here but not yesterday.

Never understand why the change the holes 9 and 10
9th is not well designed appears to be added to just increase yards
10th he you catch the ridge drives of 350 yards balls tend to be found in the same spot
