"Played this many times over the years and still like it. Like others reasonable value if played in twilight. Buggy not needed although the walk uphill to the downhill par 3 14th might challenge some. Some work on ditches has improved the look of a few of the holes on the back 9.it has a good layout with many good par 3s and some tough par 4s with raised greens protected by bunkers making them more difficult. Nice bar area with decent food and staff." - Spiggy

"This used to be one of my favourite courses on the Costa del Sol.
Unfortunately they have ruined the back 9 with the drainage ditches. I don’t know why they couldn’t put these underground.
Another big problem is the bunkers. The sand was just grit and there were puddles in lots of the bunkers. Can’t they direct the sprinklers to avoid the bunkers??
Greens were also a bit weedy and scabby and the tees were poor.
A real shame. It was a lovely shortish course that I really liked." - Steve Smith

"Nice course in good condition. Easy to play for all Hcp level. Typical park course. We had buggies but was not allowed to drive on the fairways do to much rain in March. It would have been better to walked the course as it's quite flat and not long way between the holes. One of the few courses that buggies are not needed." - Morten H

"Another good value course if played during twilight. Friendly staff. Course in pretty good condition. The much easier back 9 has become a little more difficult with the introduction of new water channels from holes 12 to 15. This makes the already tough 15 even harder. Fairways are reasonably wide. This and the Lagos course always worth a visit as long as the green keepers don’t put the wrong water on them like they did in the past!" - Spiggy

"The bunkers are among the worst on the coast, where is the sand? Some had gravel/stones in them and most had only a thin layer of sand and rock hard surface underneath. The grass was unevenly cut and poorly maintained. Greens were uneven in condition. Not worth the price we paid.
The warning sound from the buggies if someone drives to close to a boundary is really disturbing, especially while you are midst in your back swing!
As a golf course I prefer Los Lagos 10 of 10 times over Los Olivos but I won't come back because of the rudeness from the staff. We were 4 minutes behind after 9 holes and due to this the starter chased us up on the 10th breaking the buggy hard just when we went on to the tee box, saying we had to pickup the pace because there were a large group of members closing in on us. They were not even close during the front 9. Anyhow, we picked up the pace and finished 18th 16 minutes early, did we get a thank you? A very snobby attitude from the starter, who does he think he is?
A few weeks ago we visited the range a late evening, we were the only ones there. The guys who maintains the range collecting balls came up to us and said that the starter had called him that we were not allowed to have jeans on the driving range, even though it was empty and about to close, again snobby behaviour, he could have come down to the range and tell us in person but he sent a colleague, who by the way had jeans at work...
We and our friends have a feeling that the golf club tries to be something they are not, it is at it's most an average golf club and course, Los Lagos is ok but please half the price of Los Olivos or close it down. Then speak to your staff about their business skills."

"Ein sehr schöner, mittelschwerer Platz für alle Handycap Bereiche. Die Grüns waren gut in Schuss, besonders bei der langen Regenperiode. Das Clubhaus ist eher übersichtlich, man wird aber sehr nett empfangen.
Wir haben Buggys genutzt. Technisch OK, aber doch in die Jahre gekommen." |
